Ottawa woman killed in accident

The Ottawa Police Department has identified a woman killed in a wreck Tuesday afternoon as Linda Mustain, 57, of Ottawa.

According to the police department, Mustain died at Ransom Memorial Hospital from injuries she suffered in a two-vehicle collision shortly before 3 p.m. at Fourth and Willow streets.

The wreck happened when a northbound 2005 Ford Explorer driven by Robert Wahl, 52, Ottawa, failed to yield the right of way at the uncontrolled intersection and hit Mustain’s westbound 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass on the driver’s side.

Mustain was not wearing a seat belt. A front-seat passenger in her vehicle, Beverly Jacobs, 64, Ottawa, was taken to Ransom Memorial with injuries that weren’t believed to be life-threatening, Ottawa Police Capt. Randy Allan said.

Police did not issue any citations at the scene.
