Wreck on slick I-35 bridge injures driver

A New Hampshire woman was injured Friday morning after she lost control of her vehicle while crossing a slick bridge about one mile northeast of Ottawa, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol report.

Amanda Gray, 22, was treated Friday at Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.

At 9:20 a.m., Gray was driving her 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser on northbound Interstate 35 when the vehicle lost traction on slick pavement of a bridge over the Marais de Cygnes River. The car struck a guardrail, spun around and then rolled over onto the driver’s side.

Medics with the Franklin County Emergency Medical Service took Gray to the hospital. She was wearing her seat belt, according to the accident report.
