Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ Lawrence Police released reports Thursday of two more thefts of copper, bringing the total to at least three copper thefts this week. Both cases released Thursday involved thefts of copper belonging to Westar Energy from a storage area and scrap-metal bin in the 700 block of East 27th Street. One theft happened between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. Wednesday, and the other happened between Nov. 24 and Monday. Total value of the materials stolen was $805.

Between Saturday and Monday, someone stole 16 copper AC lines valued at $2,000, as well three steel doors worth $600, from a construction site in the 400 block of Eisenhower Drive.

¢ A 45-year-old man reported $2,433 worth of items – including a DVD player, electric guitar and bass, speakers, grocery items and tools – stolen between 9 a.m. Nov. 23 and 1:30 p.m. Saturday from his apartment in the 2500 block of Redbud Lane.
