Topeka A man charged in a deadly shooting early this year in downtown Lawrence now faces a second murder charge for a 2005 shooting in Topeka.
Rashawn T. Anderson, 19, has been charged in Shawnee County District Court in connection with the July 18, 2005, shooting of 18-year-old Christopher McCoy Caraway, found killed in the parking lot of a Topeka apartment complex.
Anderson is being held in Douglas County Jail, where he awaits trial for the Feb. 5 death of 46-year-old Robert Earl Williams outside the Granada, 1020 Mass., after a hip-hop concert.
Douglas County Dist. Atty. Charles Branson said he did not have reason to believe the two shootings were connected.
Two other Topeka men, Jamil M. Fulton, 19, and Robert E. Patterson III, 19, also are charged in the 2005 case. They were arrested Monday after a Shawnee County grand jury returned indictments against them.
