Law enforcement report

¢ Levi, one of Douglas County’s two drug-sniffing dogs, helped Kansas Highway Patrol troopers find “several plastic bags containing large amounts of green vegetation” – suspected marijuana – during a traffic stop about 3 a.m. on the Kansas Turnpike at milepost 202. A 27-year-old Texas man was arrested, but his name was not available. The sheriff’s K-9 unit was called to the scene to assist the highway patrol.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ 300 block of North 1700 Road, Lecompton: A burglar or burglars forced their way into a home between 7 a.m. and 11:12 a.m. Monday and stole a computer, stereo, jewelry and other items valued at more than $3,000 total.

¢ 2700 block of Inverness Court: A 40-year-old Lawrence man had his golf clubs valued at more than $1,500 stolen between Aug. 1 and Aug. 10.

¢ 3700 block of Tacker Trail: A $6,000 power sprayer belonging to Fritzel Construction was stolen between 6 p.m. Friday and noon Tuesday.
