Lawrence man faces gun charges
A Lawrence man has been charged in federal court with making a false statement to obtain a firearm and other weapons-related charges.
Prosecutors allege Charles A. Nunez, 23, made a false statement to get a firearm in 2005 in Wyandotte County.
He’s also charged with unlawfully receiving a firearm while under a felony indictment and “unlawfully possessing a firearm while he was a user of controlled substances,” according to U.S. Atty. Eric Melgren’s office.
Nunez faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison on the first charge and up to 10 years on each of the other charges.
