Law enforcement report

¢ Lawrence police officers were still searching Saturday for a man who pulled a gun and demanded a woman’s purse that morning in the Dillons parking lot, 1015 W. 23rd St.

The victim, a 61-year-old Lawrence woman, refused the request from the man who displayed the weapon, and then the man drove off in an older white SUV, said police spokesman Sgt. Paul Fellers.

The call came in to police at 10:16 a.m. After the woman refused, the man left the parking lot and headed west, Fellers said.

The suspect was described as a white male, 20-30 years old, with sandy-blond or light brown hair that was straight and shorter. He was also described as having a medium build and being clean shaven, Fellers said.

¢ Lawrence police arrested two 17-year-old males Saturday evening in North Lawrence on charges of aggravated robbery, said Sgt. Michael Monroe, a police spokesman.

Monroe said the suspects allegedly used a knife to rob and take an amount of cash from the victim, another 17-year-old, about 5:30 p.m. near the Eighth Street boat ramp. Police believe the suspects knew the victim.

No one was injured in the incident, and the cash was recovered, Monroe said.
