A Linwood man was killed Friday morning on Kansas Highway 10 in Lenexa when a semitrailer crossed the median and struck his car.

According to a Kansas Highway Patrol report, Justin Coffman, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene near Woodland Road and K-10.

Coffman was driving a 1994 Toyota Camry east at 6:48 a.m. According to the report, troopers do not know why a westbound 2006 Freightliner truck driven by Ernest Martin, 59, of South Greenfield, Mo., then crossed the median.

Martin’s truck rolled onto its side and struck Coffman’s car. Martin was taken to Overland Park Regional Medical Center.

Joe Blubaugh, a spokesman for the Kansas Department of Transportation, said crews fully reopened the highway about 11:30 a.m. Friday.
