A Linwood man was killed this morning on Kansas Highway 10 in Lenexa when a semi tractor-trailer truck crossed the median and struck his car.

According to a Kansas Highway Patrol report, Justin Coffman, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene near Woodland Road and K-10.

Coffman was driving a 1994 Toyota Camry at 6:48 a.m. in the eastbound lane, according to state troopers. Troopers do not know why a westbound 2006 Freightliner truck driven by Ernest Martin, 59, of South Greenfield, Mo., then crossed the median, the report said.

Martin’s truck rolled onto its side and struck Coffman’s car. Martin was taken to Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
