Law enforcement report
¢ Kansas University Police arrested a 26-year-old Coffeyville woman Saturday evening on suspicion of hitting a male KU student with a stick outside Watson Library. Police said the woman was talking incoherently and may have had mental health problems. The student was not injured.
¢ Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies on Friday responded to a report that someone had opened the valve of an anhydrous ammonia tank at the Midland Co-Op, 1419 N. 1941 Diagonal Road. Employees told police the tank was nearly empty beforehand.
Burglaries and thefts reported
¢ Someone stole more than $1,500 worth of tools from a home in the 400 block of Elm Street. It happened between 4 p.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
¢ A 33-year-old Lawrence man told police he awoke about 4:50 a.m. Saturday and found an intruder in his home in the 1800 block of West 26th Street. The intruder had a flashlight and was wearing gloves, but the man didn’t get a good enough look to give police a detailed description.
¢ A Pizza Shuttle employee told police his Honda Civic valued at $2,000 was stolen from the parking lot of his work at 1601 W. 23rd St. The theft happened about 8:20 p.m. Saturday.
