Feeling Free In Europe

Students studying in Paderno del Grappa wonder every day, where should they go this weekend? Our options are unlimited because, of course, we are in Europe. There’s the Coliseum in Rome, the Eiffel Tower in Paris or the Olympics in Torino. But trust me, deciding where to travel is a lot harder than it seems.

We are used to having our parents plan out our transportation, accommodations and sightseeing itinerary. Now it is our time to venture into Europe and plan it ourselves. This is an opportunity that students dream of, getting the chance to travel around, without adults telling them what to do or where to go. You feel free. Students must learn how to plan a travel break. Transportation isn’t like America, where you can drive your car wherever you want to go.

In Europe, it is common to take trains. Many trips are done online by booking tickets. But it is still frustrating to find a train that is too expensive or doesn’t arrive at a convenient time. Why don’t people just drive like they do in America? In Italy, the public transportation is an easy and inexpensive way to travel. Italians are not as worried about time because they have patience. They are seldom in a hurry. Americans need to follow the Italian example and learn to enjoy every moment of life.
