Manhattan ? The Lawrence High girls tennis team won five of six singles matches to secure a 6-3 victory Thursday against Manhattan.

Emily Thompson was a double winner for the Lions, winning at No. 1 singles and teaming with Lily Boyce for the victory at No. 2 doubles.

“Usually, we have been a little stronger in doubles, but the girls got the job done in singles,” said LHS coach Dick Wedel.

The Lions will return to action Monday against Free State.
