A Lawrence man was flown by air ambulance to a Kansas City hospital early this morning after his pickup truck crashed just north of Baldwin on Douglas County Road 1055.

Brent McClintick, 31, was driving north about 2:50 a.m. when he lost control of his Dodge pickup and it crashed into the ditch on the east side of the road, said Lt. Kari Wempe, a spokeswoman for the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

Wempe said McClintick was taken to University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kan. A condition update wasn’t immediately available this morning. Officers are investigating to see if alcohol was the cause of the crash.
