DeSoto ? Lawrence’s High girls golf team placed fourth of 11 teams at the Lions’ season-opening tournament at Burning Tree Golf Club. Senior Jamie Shmalberg placed second with a nine-hole score of 42. Sydney Wilson was ninth at 44.

The Lions next will compete at Free State’s tournament on Sept. 12 at Eagle Bend.
