Lawrence High blanked

Shawnee Heights scored two goals within a minute of each other midway through the first half, then held on for a 2-0 high school soccer victory over Lawrence High on Friday night at the Youth Sports Inc. fields.

“Everybody played well in the second half,” LHS coach David Platt said. “We had about 10 minutes in the first half where no one was playing well. Then we stepped up and started playing like men.”

Platt cited the play of Cole Walker for defense and David Liston in goal for the Lions (1-8).
