¢ A 40-year-old McLouth woman was taken to the hospital Monday morning after a two-vehicle wreck south of Tonganoxie.

Leanna M. Grammer was driving a 1991 Pontiac about 7:15 a.m. on U.S. Highway 24-40 when she rear-ended a 1998 Ford truck that was stopped to make a left turn at 222nd Street, according to a report. Grammer, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, according to a report. She was treated and released, the nursing supervisor said.

The driver of the truck, 26-year-old Kurtis Voelker of Tonganoxie, was not injured.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ Two apartments in the 600 block of Gateway Court were burglarized between Nov. 22 and Friday. Items stolen included laptop computers and video game equipment.

¢ A 25-year-old woman reported a Ford Escort valued at $1,200 stolen between 8:45 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Thursday from the 2100 block of West Sixth Street.

¢ Two women reported items including a $2,000 laptop computer, a $1,000 digital camera and a DVD player stolen between 2 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday from their apartment in the 900 block of Tennessee Street.

¢ Someone stole $2,250 in property, including a $1,600 laptop computer and a bag of tools worth $500, from Best Buy, 2020 W. 31st St. The theft happened between 1 p.m. Friday and 8:15 a.m. Saturday, according to a report.

¢ Lawrence Police are looking for a man who drove off from a local gas station without paying and struck a clerk with his car as he fled.

The incident happened about 6:15 p.m. Saturday at Presto Convenience Store, 1030 N. Third St. A 51-year-old female clerk told police she saw the man put about $21 gas into his car and get back into his vehicle, a white 1990s model Ford four-door. As the clerk walked out to make sure he was going to pay, the driver struck her, knocking her to the ground, according to a report. The victim said she suffered a broken leg.
