Topeka — Lawrence High boys tennis senior Ryan Robinson placed 20th in singles, and the duo of Noah Welch and Gardner Burg placed 16th in doubles at the Topeka West Invitational on Wednesday at Kossover Tennis Center. Lawrence's doubles team of Tommy Johnson and Rahul Gogineni placed 19th.
Lions' Bechard signs
Lawrence High senior Brennan Bechard has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Neosho County Community College. Bechard, the Lions' second-leading scorer who averaged 11.5 points per game, said his love for basketball steered him to the Chanute campus over attending college at Kansas University.
