Overland Park ? Lawrence High’s baseball team downed Shawnee Mission West, 5-4, Tuesday at Broodmoor Park.

Marc Albers went 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs, while Brian Heere was 3-for-3 with a double for the Lions. Will Falk went 2-for-2 with a double that plated Mike Sickinger with the winning run in the sixth. He also was cited for strong play at third base.

Matt Wingert scattered seven hits and struck out four for the winners.

“Defensively we played well,” LHS coach Brad Stoll said. “We made big plays when we needed to.”

The Lions (7-10) will meet SM Northwest at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Ice Field.
