Lawrence Police said Wednesday that in the past 24 hours they handled:

¢ 26 reports

¢ four burglaries

¢ two thefts

¢ five noninjury accidents

Accidents

¢ Two people were taken to Topeka hospitals following a two-vehicle collision Wednesday night on Kansas Highway 4, 2.6 miles north of the Kansas Highway 92 intersection in Jefferson County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol identified the injured as Jennifer R. Smith, 22, Lawrence, and Stanley J. Grewing, 49, Tecumseh. Smith was taken to Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center and Grewing to St. Francis Hospital. Their conditions were not available.

Smith was the driver of an eastbound Mazda that slid across K-4 and struck a westbound Chevrolet truck driven by Grewing.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ At least three residents of the 900 block of Emery Road had their cars burglarized late Monday or early Tuesday. Items taken in the burglaries included CD players and speakers. Total value of items stolen from the three vehicles was more than $2,200.
