Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ A 1996 Chevy Blazer valued at $9,000 was taken June 7 or June 8 from the 2800 block of Iowa Street, according to a Lawrence Police report filed by a 31-year-old Lawrence woman.

¢ A 22-year-old Lawrence woman reported to Lawrence Police that someone stole about $1,200 worth of electronics from her home in the 2400 block of Alabama Street. The items were taken Sunday afternoon.

¢ A 36-year-old man reported to Lawrence Police that someone took $1,847 worth of merchandise from Bed Bath & Beyond, 3106 Iowa. The items were taken between April 14 and June 10.

¢ A 24-year-old Overland Park man reported to Lawrence Police that someone took a vacuum valued at $1,500 from the 1800 block of West Second Street. The theft happened Monday or Tuesday.

Injury accidents

¢ A Baldwin man was hospitalized Thursday after his truck hit a culvert on U.S. Highway 59 three miles south of Lawrence. According to an accident report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, Tony McMechan, 42, was driving south in his pickup around 3:50 p.m. when the vehicle left the road and struck the culvert. He was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released.
