Injury Accidents

Two vehicles collided Sunday afternoon on U.S. Highway 59 south of Lawrence, sending two people to Lawrence Memorial Hospital with possible injuries.

Around noon Sunday, a 2004 GMC Suburban attempted to make a left-hand turn from the highway’s southbound lane near Pleasant Grove, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol report.

The Suburban did not yield to a 1992 Subaru PC headed north, striking the vehicle, the report shows.

Two passengers in the Subaru, Helen and Joseph Engle from McLouth, were transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital with possible injuries. No one else involved in the wreck suffered injuries, the report shows.
