Family, volunteers to celebrate new home
A Lawrence family will move into a new home this holiday season thanks to Lawrence Habitat for Humanity and several area churches.
The new home at 1609 E. 25th Terrace for Bret and Kimberly Olsen and their sons, Brady, Blane and Bryce, will be dedicated during a public ceremony at 10:30 a.m. today.
The Olsens worked with other volunteers for more than 200 hours on their new three-bedroom and one-bathroom home. They will pay for their home through a no-interest mortgage with Lawrence Habitat for Humanity.
Youth from the neighborhood have given the family a tree, and a member of each of the 16 churches involved in the Building of Faith project will present an ornament to the family during today’s dedication.
