Kansas University's football team knew last weekend that its 24-21 overtime win over Iowa State secured KU its second bowl game in three seasons. But on Sunday afternoon wide speculation that Kansas would head to Texas, became official as Jayhawk coach Mark Mangino announced his team would indeed play in the Fort Worth Bowl. Kansas (6-5 overall, 3-5 Big 12) will take on the Houston Cougars (6-5 overall, 4-4 Conference USA) at 7 p.m. Dec. 23, 2005 from Amon G. Carter Stadium on the TCU campus. The game will be televised by ESPN (Sunflower Broadband Channel 33).

Hate to be a pessimist, but 3-5 conference record and KU is in a "bowl" game? What a system...

3-5 in one of the best football conferences in the country is rather respectable if you ask me...

The BIG 12 was down this year. Only 2 ranked teams. Buy hey, a bowl is a bowl, no matter what. You get treated well and get an extra month for practice.

And people will be forced to look at your game for bowl pools :)

And FYI Notre Dame in the BCS is terrible. Beat every team but USU (Oregon) and get stuck in the Holiday bowl.
