Claire Gaudiani, the author of a book on philanthropy, will speak next week to a Kansas University organization.

Women Philanthropists for KU, or WP4KU, will hold the luncheon at noon Sept. 9 at Adams Alumni Center.

“It’s a group of women very interested in KU and women who have their own particular interest in philanthropy,” said Deanell Reece Tacha, co-chairwoman of the group and chief judge of the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

The group’s aim is to offer educational and volunteer leadership opportunities, said Judy Wright, chairwoman of the KU Endowment task force for WP4KU and director of The Chancellors Club.

Gaudiani is a New York University professor and author of “The Greater Good: How Philanthropy Drives the American Economy and Can Save Capitalism.”
