Law enforcement report

Lawrence Police said Thursday that in the past 24 hours they handled:

¢ 324 calls

¢ 28 reports

¢ one burglary

¢ one theft

¢ eight noninjury accidents

¢ two injury accidents

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ A 22-year-old Kansas University student reported a 1997 Isuzu Rodeo stolen between 5:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Sunday in the 2600 block of West Sixth Street. The vehicle was recovered in a nearby parking lot.

¢ A 27-year-old Lawrence woman told police someone used her credit card to rack up more than $2,000 in purchases online between July 20 and Aug. 5.

Injury Accidents

¢ A Lenexa teen received minor injuries Thursday morning after she lost control of her vehicle on Interstate 70 near the Lecompton-Lawrence exit.

Alina Vayseligel, 18, Lenexa, drove a 2000 Nissan westbound that spun out and struck the wall at 9:10 a.m. Thursday, according to a Kansas Turnpike Authority report.

Vayseligel wore a seat belt and sustained bruises to her face and a cut to the neck, but she refused treatment, the report said.

¢ No injuries resulted after a vehicle carrying two Lawrence women hydroplaned and hit a barrier Thursday morning on Interstate 35 near Emporia.

A 2004 Chevrolet spun out of control at 9:15 a.m. Thursday. Driver Allison D. Koonce, 27, Lawrence, was uninjured and Tami Larsen, 27, Lawrence, complained of whiplash but refused medical treatment, according to a report from the Kansas Turnpike Authority.
