Lawrence Police said Monday that between Friday and Sunday they handled:

¢ 1,006 calls

¢ 108 reports

¢ three burglaries

¢ eight thefts

¢ 28 non-injury accidents

¢ two injury accidents

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ A 20-year-old Baldwin man reported more than $4,000 in property, including speakers, an amplifier, a VCR, and motocross equipment, stolen between Aug. 13 and Aug. 16 from his vehicle as it was parked in the 100 block of East 1550 Road. According to a sheriff’s report, the man’s vehicle broke down while he was moving, so he parked it at a friend’s home. When he returned, it had been burglarized.

¢ An 18-year-old Kansas University student reported a Gateway laptop computer valued at $1,000 stolen between 10 p.m. Saturday and 1 a.m. Sunday from the 1400 block of Apple Lane.

Injury Accidents

¢ A Wellsville teen suffered an injury Monday evening as her vehicle left the roadway and struck a bridge on Kansas Highway 33, two miles south of Wellsville.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that at 6:21 p.m. Monday, a 1989 Mercury driven by Lindy M. Marks, 16, entered the ditch west of the highway, struck a culvert and then a concrete bridge, which caused the vehicle to overturn. Marks was trapped inside the vehicle, the report said. The report indicated she wore a shoulder strap but no lap seat belt.

Medical personnel transported her to Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa. A hospital official said at 10 p.m. Monday that Marks was treated and released.
