Injury accident
¢ An 80-year-old Lawrence woman suffered injuries Friday afternoon in a three-vehicle wreck at Harrison Avenue and West 31st Street.
Helen L. Bates was riding in a westbound 2004 Jeep Wrangler about 12:30 p.m. when an oncoming driver failed to yield and attempted a left turn onto Harrison Avenue in front of the Jeep, according to a report. The oncoming car, a 2002 Ford Escape driven by Traci L. Furan, 35, Lawrence, flipped and struck a third vehicle.
Police cited Furan for failing to yield.
Bates was taken by ambulance to Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Burglaries and thefts reported
¢ Two 22-year-old men living in the 2800 block of Winterbrook reported $1,550 worth of items stolen from their home, including a .45-caliber Glock pistol valued at $400.
¢ A 24-year-old employee of Peking Taste, 2210 Iowa, reported his $5,000 Mercury Sable stolen at 2:52 p.m. Friday from outside the restaurant.
