Injury Accidents
¢ A Lawrence man was injured Friday in an accident near Junction City on Interstate 70 when his vehicle hydroplaned.
Relatives transported Ryan B. Wedel, 30, to Abilene Memorial Hospital, according to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol. Wedel wore a seat belt as he drove a 2002 Chevrolet Blazer westbound on I-70; it left the road and struck the north guardrail. The vehicle then re-entered the road and overturned, the KHP report said. A hospital spokeswoman said Wedel was treated and released.
¢ A Tonganoxie woman was involved in a crash early Saturday in western Wyandotte County on a ramp that connects Interstate 70 with Interstate 435.
Milissa Newberry, 30, was transported to Providence Medical Center after her 2001 Pontiac Grand Am that was westbound on I-70 left the road and struck the guardrail, a Kansas Highway Patrol Report said. A hospital spokeswoman said Newberry was treated and released.
