Injury Accidents

A Gardner teen was injured in an accident Saturday morning on Interstate 35 just south of Olathe, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol report.

At 8:10 a.m. Saturday, Rachael C. Smith, 17, of Gardner, drove a 2000 Daewoo northbound on I-35 that crossed the center median and struck the front grill of a 2004 Ford Crown Victoria driven by Leslie Smith, 38, Olathe. Leslie Smith was uninjured, the report said.

Rachael Smith was transported to Olathe Medical Center, and a hospital official said late Saturday that she was no longer listed on the patient census. No additional information on her condition was available.
