KU sets fall enrollment record
Enrollment at Kansas University again reached record levels this fall, university officials announced Thursday.
KU’s 20th-day enrollment is 29,590, up 318 students — or 1.1 percent — from fall 2003, when the previous record was set.
Enrollment at the Lawrence campus increased 166 students, or 0.6 percent, to 26,980. The Medical Center saw an increase of 6.2 percent or 152 students, to 2,610.
Statewide, enrollment at state universities increased 0.8 percent, up 670 students from fall 2003. There are 88,270 students enrolled at the state’s six regents institutions.
Each institution saw an enrollment increase except Emporia State University (down 1.3 percent), Pittsburg State University (down 2.9 percent) and Wichita State University (down 4 percent).
