The week: Wilson shot a 4-over-par 76 on Sept. 16 at the Lawrence High Invitational to take medalist honors in a 22-team, 111-golfer meet. Her round included a 1-over front nine, and the runner-up individual finisher wasn’t really in the running, finishing three strokes back with a 79. It was Wilson’s first-ever victory at the prestigious meet, and it helped propel Lawrence to a seventh-place finish.

The week: Johnson led from start-to-finish in the blue race of the Rim Rock Farm High School Classic, completing the challenging 3.1 mile course in 17:38.14, seven seconds better than runner-up Kevin Smith of Skutt Catholic. Teammates Donnie Gardner (ninth) and Tanner McNamara (15th) also had strong days, leading De Soto to a second-place team finish in the race.
