Heaggans arrested on drunk driving charge
Gregory W. Heaggans was booked into the Douglas County Jail at 3:50 a.m. today after being arrested on suspicion of drunk driving by a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper.
Kansas University athletic officials have not confirmed it’s the same Greg Heaggans who is a junior wide receiver on the KU football team. But jail records match the football player’s date of birth and home address at Jayhawker Towers, 1603 W. 15th St.
KUSports.comHeaggans was released from jail at 8:30 a.m. after posting a $250 bond.
Heaggans, the football player, is 21, a graduate of Schlagle High School in Kansas City, Kan., and is used frequently in kickoff returns. So far this year he’s returned two kicks for at total of 78 yards. Last year, he averaged 23.8 yards per return.
