The week: Renfro was the Sunflower League runner-up Saturday at Rim Rock Farm. The freshman finished the 4K in a personal-best time of 15:32.45. Renfro has placed second in her last three races. Next for the Lions is Saturday’s Class 6A regional at Jones Park in Emporia.

Coach’s comments: “I know she’s going to give us her best effort,” LHS coach Chip Anderson said of the regional meet. “I think she’ll be in the top three.”

The week: Garcia won the Frontier League meet Thursday at Rim Rock Farm, completing the two-mile course in a personal-best time of 11:57.9. Garcia has won four of the Bulldogs’ seven races this season. Next for Baldwin is the Class 4A regional Saturday at Tonganoxie.

Coach’s comments: “She’s been running great this season and getting better every meet,” Baldwin coach Mike Spielman said. “I think she has some good races ahead of her.”
