Lied Center to open season Aug. 20

The Lied Center will kick off its 2004-2005 season Aug. 20 with a free outdoor concert to help celebrate Lawrence's 150th anniversary.

"Sesquicentennial Celebration" will feature the Lawrence City Band under the direction of longtime conductor Robert Foster. The 7:30 p.m. concert will be preceded by the Family Arts Festival in the center's garden courtyard.
