Oskaloosa ? The Jefferson County Historical Society will have a May Day celebration this afternoon at Old Jefferson Town in Oskaloosa.

Children up to 11 years old can make their own May Day baskets with provided materials beginning at 1:30 p.m. At 2:30 p.m., a traditional Maypole Dance will be performed, and at 3 p.m. a choir from Oskaloosa Elementary School will sing.

The event is free, and visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch.
