LHS Camp: Lawrence High's basketball camp for elementary, junior high and high school girls is scheduled June 28-July 2. For information, call Kristin Mallory at 842-3342.

  • Gems Standouts: Lawrence's Jennifer Narcomey, Danielle Huff and Jenni Morrell play for the K.C. Gems softball team that won a USSSA qualifier during the weekend in Overland Park.

  • Golden Oldies Golf: A Golden Oldies golf tournament for over-60 players will be at 8 a.m. June 23 at Orchards Golf Course. It's a two-man, 18-hole scramble. For information, call Lynn Goodell at 691-5790 or Ted Coulter at 842-6876.

  • BHS Coach Honored: Baldwin High wrestling coach Kit Harris has been named Kansas Man of the Year by Wrestling USA magazine.

  • Mop Run: Alex Weston of Lawrence and Mary Jones of Blue Springs, Mo., won the male and female portions of Saturday's Mop Run orienteering exercise. Lawrence's Dee Boeck, Celeste Leonardi and Molly Wood won a group competition.

  • Triple Winner: Alexa Harmon-Thomas of the Lawrence Track Club won three gold medals at the Kansas AAU championships during the weekend in Manhattan. Harmon-Thomas won the primary 200 and 400 dashes and the long jump. Other LTC winners were Kristina Taylor (youth 400), Monica Howard (bantam high jump) and Kendall Francisco (intermediate 400).

  • Soccer Tryouts: Girls born after Aug. 1, 1990, who are interested in playing premier soccer are invited to attend tryouts at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at SuperTarget Field on the Kansas University campus. For information, call Shelley Bock at 842-1135.

  • Force Boys Champs: Kaw Valley Force U-15 boys soccer won their division in the Heartland Spring Premier League. Team members are Paul Brungardt, Alex Clayton, Kyle Craig, Travis Everett, Colin Flanders, Tony Gatti, Blaine Juhl, Jakuaterua Kamatuka, Nolan Kappelman, Logan Marienau, Will Nagengast, Nathan Roush, Drew Schelar, Julian Spangler, Michael Valverde, Sklyer Workman, Austin Wright and Grady Underwood. The coach is Kay Diaw and the team manager is Judy Schelar.
