Lawrence High setter Carolyn Raynes has signed a letter of intent to play volleyball for Washburn. Raynes (5-foot-9) was a two-time All-Sunflower League selection who helped the Lions to a second-place finish in the Class 6A state tournament this year.

“Carolyn is a lefty setter that has shown great improvement throughout her volleyball career,” Washburn coach Chris Herron said. “She has a lot of potential, and her best volleyball is ahead of her.”
