Ex-Lion Madill inks with WIU

Aaron Madill, a former Lawrence High and Lawrence Legion Raiders pitcher, has signed a national baseball letter of intent with Western Illinois.

Madill, currently a sophomore at Allen County Community College in Iola, will transfer to the Macomb, Ill., school following ACCC’s 2005 baseball season.

“Aaron has a fastball in the low 90s that moves,” WIU coach Stan Hyman said. “He also has an above-average curve ball, slider and change.”

Madill is one of three ACCC baseball players who will transfer to WIU. The other two are outfielder Ryan Wadsworth (Oolagah, Okla.) and pitcher Wyatt Luebber (Joplin, Mo.).
