Bicycle racks are next to practically every building on Kansas University’s campus.

Students do not need a permit for their bicycle, but KU parking department officials recommend students register bikes with the Lawrence Police Department.

Registration is 25 cents per year, and the system helps when a bike is stolen anywhere in the city, including on campus.

Mopeds can also park in bicycle racks, but unlike bicycles they do require a parking permit. This permit costs $25.
