Roeland Park educator receives learning award
The executive director of the Horizon Academy in Roeland Park has received the 2004 Gordon R. Alley Partnership Award from the Kansas University Center for Research on Learning.
Sharyl Kennedy received the award during a conference July 22 in Lawrence.
The award is given annually to professionals who have made contributions at the KU research center.
The Horizon Academy is a private school for children with learning disabilities. It uses strategies developed at the Center for Research on Learning as part of its curriculum.
