SUA picks new leadership

A new group of students has been picked for one of the most important jobs on Kansas University’s campus next year — bringing in celebrities to speak and perform and also planning concerts, movies and a variety of fun, educational and cultural events.

KU’s Student Union Activities has announced its leadership for the 2004-2005 school year.

SUA’s goal is to “enrich the college experience by providing diverse, interactive, educational and fun programs and leadership opportunities for the KU community.” All programs are developed, planned and coordinated by students, with assistance of professional staff.

New officers will be Rachel Peart, Overland Park sophomore, president; Jamie Labrier, Billings, Mont., junior, vice president; Kaitlin Connealy, Leawood sophomore, director of public relations; Nick Menefee, Topeka junior, films coordinator; Will Lamborn, Colorado Springs, Colo., junior, comedy and concerts coordinator; Lauren Stewart, Wichita junior, traditions coordinator; Megan Storm, Yankton, S.D., sophomore, social issues coordinator; Sean Hatfield, Bennington junior, games and novelty coordinator; and Megan Wesley, Hutchinson sophomore, cultural arts coordinator.
