Douglas County would receive an additional judge under the $10.2 billion state budget approved Thursday by the Legislature.

The measure was forwarded to Gov. Kathleen Sebelius for her consideration.

Under the spending plan, the state would provide $112,000 to set up a new district court judge position and two staff members in Douglas County. The funding would be effective Jan. 1, 2005.
