KANSAS CITY, KAN. ? KU Med plans its second annual “Treads and Threads” fund-raiser Friday at the infield of the Kansas Speedway.

The formal event will raise money for the Cancer Center at KU Med, the hospital affiliated with Kansas University. Last year’s event raised $300,000.

The gala begins at 6 p.m. with a preparty for event sponsors and patrons. General admission is 7:30 p.m.

Food and drink will be provided by more than 20 Kansas City-area restaurants. Entertainment will be Temptations Review, led by Temptations lead singer Dennis Edwards, and the Bill Pollack Orchestra.
