Board delays vote on technical college

The Wichita school board said it needed time to obtain legal advice before acting on a plan that would start cutting the district’s ties to the Wichita Area Technical College.

A new state law requires the technical college and three others to separate from the school districts that run them.

The Kansas Board of Regents will begin overseeing the technical colleges by July 2005.
