Authorities release name of four-wheeler accident victim
Authorities released on Monday morning the name of the man killed Sunday afternoon in a four-wheeler accident at a rock quarry south of Lawrence.
Daniel Evans Miller, 29, Gardner, died shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday at the quarry, 1223 N 700 Rd., according to Lt. Kathy Tate, a spokeswoman for the Douglas County Sheriff’s office.
Tate says the all-terrain vehicle Miller was riding stalled on a steep hill and began to roll backwards.
Miller was thrown to the ground behind the ATV, which then overturned on top of him, Tate said.
Miller, who died a the scene of the accident, had been riding for about half an hour before the accident happened, Tate said.
