Around campus

The Kansas Union contains several meeting rooms, a bookstore, a cafeteria and a bowling alley. The union underwent a million renovation last year. The original building was named the Kansas Memorial Union. It commemorated those from KU who died during World War I.

Here's an aerial shot of campus looking northeast with Iowa Street running left to right, and Irving Hill Road crossing to west campus. The three buildings in the foreground are, from left, Lewis Residence Hall, Hashinger Residence Hall and Ellsworth Residence Hall.

A B-17 passes over Kansas University's memorial Campanile July 21 in conjunction with festivities for the Dole Institute of Politics. The Campanile is a memorial to KU's World War II dead. Potter Lake is in the background.

A bronze tai chi figure sits in the Green Hall lawn.

A bronze Jayhawk greets students at the KU Visitor Center. The center is at the southeast corner of 15th and Iowa streets.
