Manhattan ? The Lawrence High girls’ track and field team had two individual champions and the LHS boys had one as both squads finished second Saturday at the Manhattan Invitational.

Senior Lindsay Garito won the girls’ 100-meter dash, clocking in at 12.53 seconds, while senior Magdalen Obiefule won the shot put with a toss of 36-feet, 63¼4 inches. The Lions tallied 73 points, well behind winner Manhattan’s 120.

Junior Sylvester Birdsong was the boys’ lone champ, winning the long jump with a leap of 21-4 1/2. LHS was 15 points back of winner Overland Park Aquinas.

The Lions compete Friday in the Topeka Seaman Relays.
