Curtis was crossing Seventh Street, going north, when she was struck by a 1979 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Margeret L. Todd , 30, of Lawrence, Pattrick said.

Todd was traveling south on New Hampshire and was making a left turn when the accident occurred.

Curtis was taken by ambulance to Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was later taken by air ambulance to KU Med, Pattrick said.

He said no citations were issued, pending full investigation of the accident.

“We are investigating that alcohol was a contributing factor in the accident,” Pattrick said.

He also said Todd was arrested on an outstanding and unrelated warrant.
