Dr. Henry W. (Bill) Buck, Jr. and Barbara Mallory were married Sept. 6, 1963 in Kansas City. Upon Bill’s completion of residency at KUMC in 1965 they lived at Westover AFB, MA for 2 years, then Lawrence since 1967.
Bill was in private practice of OB-Gyn for 20 years before being Head of Gynecology at Watkins Memorial Health Center at KU for 18 years. He was a Task Force Chair in the American College Health Association for 14 years.
Barbara was on the Founding Board of the Visiting Nurses Association and was on the Advisory
Board of KU Natural History Museum for 2 terms. She is currently the longest serving active Docent
at the Spencer Museum of Art at KU.
Their children are Mallory Bryan (Dave), rural Lawrence, and Andrew Buck (Trish), Kansas City. Their grandchildren are Grant, Lauren and Jessica. They will celebrate the Anniversary with family.
Leo and Nina (Noll) Kreutzer, members of Holy Angels Church, Basehor, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on September 3. The couple were married at Corpus Christi Church at Mooney Creek, KS on September 3, 1953.
Their children are Pat and Gary Buckhave, Sunman, Ind., Joan Kreutzer, Lawrence, KS, and Beth Kreutzer, Pleasanton, KS. They have 6 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.
Jacobsen and Bentley
Terry and Mary Bentley announce the engagement of their daughter, Ellen Bentley, to Travis Jacobsen son of Terry and Robin Jacobsen, all of Lawrence.
The future bride is a 2011 graduate of Lawrence High School and is pursuing a Bachelors of Science degree in elementary education, with a concentration in English as a second language, at the University of Kansas.
The future groom is a 2010 graduate of Lawrence High School and is pursuing Bachelors of Science degrees in business administration and information systems technology, with a concentration in entrepreneurship, at the University of Kansas and will graduate in May. The couple plan a June 2014 wedding at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lawrence.
Harrell and Miller
Rick Harrell, Scranton, and Matthew and Melinda Wells, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter, Shelbie Marie Harrell, to Kyle Lucas Miller, both of Lawrence.
The future bride is a 2008 graduate of Lawrence High School and received a CNA license from Kansas College of Nursing in 2010. She is a Pet Stylist at Pawsh Wash and Pet Health Market in Lawrence.
The future groom is the son of Janice Miller, and the late Jeff Miller, of Lawrence. He is a 2000 graduate
of Lawrence High School, and received a Associates Degree in Electrical Technology from Pittsburg State University in 2002. He is employed by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
The couple plan a October 11, 2013 wedding in Baldwin City, KS
Danny and Becky (McArthur) McMillen of Baldwin City, were married August 30th, 1963 at the Danforth Chapel in Lawrence, Kansas. Danny retired from Lawrence Hallmark Cards and Becky is retired from children’s programming at Baldwin City Library. They were also owners of the Lonesome Pine Greenhouse for many years. Danny and Becky are active members in their community and church.
The couple have two sons, Todd (Barbara) Sanford, North Carolina and Steve (Marla) LaGrange, Kentucky and five grandchildren, Joshua (Jessica), Bethany, Jacqueline, Jordan, Trevor, and Tim and Brian Boos. The McMillen’s will be celebrating with their family at a later date.
