Loren and Beverly Dolezal, Lawrence, will be observing their 50th wedding anniversary with an open reception at 11 a.m. Dec. 26 at First Presbyterian Church in Lawrence, following the 10 a.m. service. The Dolezals celebrated their anniversary earlier with their daughter and her husband on a Caribbean cruise in October.
The couple were married on Dec. 26, 1960, at the First Presbyterian Church in Topeka.
Loren’s career was in the film industry as an animation photographer and sound recorder. Bev retired in May after a 48-year career as an early childhood teacher.
They have a a daughter, Becky Parks and husband the Rev. Tom, Muskegon, Mich.; two sons, Darry, Columbia, Mo., and Bryan and wife Ruthie, Marion, Iowa; and 11 grandchildren.

Michael and Charlyne Michnick, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception hosted by their children from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 28 in the Malott Room at the Kansas Memorial Union.
The couple were married Dec. 27, 1960, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence and are members of the St. Lawrence Catholic Campus Center.
They have a daughter, Julie Workman, Marysville, Wash.; and a son, Steven and wife Marci, Roeland Park.

The groom is a 2005 graduate of Lawrence High. He earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Iowa in May 2009. He is currently the Truman Capote Fellow of Fiction Writing while pursuing a master’s degree in fiction from the University of Iowa’s Writers Workshop.

Hubert and Connie Pritchett, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an early reception for family and friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 26 at the Union Pacific Depot, 402 N. Second St. The event will be hosted by their daughter and her family.
Hubert Pritchett and Connie Lipp were married Jan. 20, 1961.
Hubert graduated from Lawrence High School and worked at Hallmark Cards Inc. in Lawrence. Connie also graduated from Lawrence High and worked at the Douglas County Appraiser’s Office.
They have a daughter, Sheree Bower and husband Tom, Fort Worth, Texas; three grandchildren, Krista, Joshua and Amber Bower; and a daughter, the late Debbie Prentice, who died in 2009.
